Thousands expected at ‘Super’ Cork Summer Show

One of the country’s largest agricultural shows, the annual event takes place at the Munster Agricultural Society Showgrounds in Curraheen on the western side of Cork City.
As well as showjumping, dressage and ponyriding, cattle and sheep breeding and all the usual agricultural show activities, the show has a number of unique events this year promising fun for all the family.

All shoe sizes are welcome and it is not essential to bring your own welly as a fine array of Field of Dreams Cork Wellies will be on hand. All proceeds will go to Field of Dreams, Down Syndrome Cork.
The National Tug-o-War Championships take place on Sunday. Although an old sport, it has seen a huge revival in recent years, with Irish tug of war teams having success at the European Championships last year.

RTÉ’s You Should Really See A Doctor will be on site on Sunday. Pixie McKenna and Phil Kieran will host a free pop-up clinic for their RTÉ One television series.
Sample some of Ireland’s finest craft beers. Some local breweries such as White Deer (Ballyvourney), Stonewell Cider (Kinsale), and Longueville House Cider (Mallow) will be attending along with several other craft beer, artisan brews and ciders.
The Belgium v Ireland game will play live on the big screens from 2pm today and the atmosphere promises to be kicking.
With free park and ride and the number 208 bus operating regularly, customers can enjoy some food and beer while watching the game.
The Cork Summer Show is the largest open market in Munster with more than 75 food stands, as well as trade exhibitors showcasing their wares, you can eat and drink your way around Munster’s largest agricultural show.
