Man who ‘went AWOL’ gets 15 months for two assaults

A man has been convicted of two separate assaults and of resisting arrest with a court hearing told that he also “went AWOL” to England for a time before he was taken into custody.

Oisin Fahy, aged 25, with an address at 98 Street in Skibbereen, Co Cork, got prison sentences totalling 15 months, having been convicted for an assault during a fracas, a later charge of fracturing another man’s nose with a headbutt, and then resisting arrest when he was spotted outside a pub in his home town just last month.

Fahy appeared before Clonakilty District Court having been in custody since his arrest on May 22.
