Man sexually assaulted former partner’s daughter

An Armagh man suggested his partner’s daughter be put on birth control while he was secretly sexually assaulting her, a court has heard.

Darren Davidson, aged 37, was yesterday jailed for nine years for abusing the girl from when she was aged between 13 and 16 years old while he lived in the family home in Monaghan.

Davidson, formerly of Dungormley Estate, Newtownhamilton, Armagh, was convicted last March at the Central Criminal Court of 11 counts of sexual assault with an object, sexual assault and defilement at the victim’s home between 2008 and 2010.
