A centre which has played a significant role in scientific, religious, learning, and economic life through the ages is set to celebrate 25 years of Heritage Town status.

Lismore celebrates quarter century of heritage status

Lismore, Co Waterford is planning to mark the occasion next Saturday with a series of events, which will include a pageant and parade.

The day-long festivities commence around lunchtime and will lead to the unveiling of a replica of The Lismore Crozier, which dates from 1100 AD. It had been made for the first Bishop of Lismore.
