Family say fisherman had violent death despite Garda investigation

The family of a fisherman, whose body was found in the River Shannon at Mungret, have said they have many unanswered questions as to how he died, despite a Garda investigation which found no clear evidence of foul play in his death.

The family of father of two, Nicholas Lyons, said they believe he met a violent death, and have appealed for information about a man who was seen with Nicky, an hour before he is understood to have died.

Mr Lyons, 33, was the third member of his family to lose his life on the river.
