The numbers of foreign nationals deported or removed from the State last year increased by 60% to 3,790.

3,790 people deported from Ireland last year: A 60% increase

According to the 2015 annual review by the State’s immigration service, the numbers deported include more than a doubling of the failed asylum seekers and illegal migrants going from 111 in 2014 to 251 last year.

In total, the numbers of foreign nationals deported or removed by the service from the State last year increased by 1,430, from 2,360 in 2014 to 3,790 in 2015.
