Judge refuses to hear case about alleged glass assault

A judge who said he does not like presiding over assault cases involving bottles or glasses has refused to hear a case of a woman who was allegedly glassed in the face by another woman at a night-club.

Ciara Killeen, aged 31, with an address at Hyde Rd, Prospect, Limerick, has been accused of assault causing harm to Mary McCarthy, at Queens nightclub, Abbey St, Ennis, Co Clare, at 1.10am on November 1, 2015.

Ms McCarthy received 23 stitches to her face following the alleged brawl.
