A Polish national living in Ireland for 10 years was yesterday jailed for two years for having €432,000 worth of cannabis resin and grass at his home in Macroom, Co Cork, last April.

Sylwester Pilarski, with an address at Annahala West, Toames, Macroom, Co Cork, was sentenced to four years in prison, with half of it suspended, at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.

He pleaded guilty to the most serious charge on the indictment against him — namely possession of a combination of cannabis resin and cannabis herb for sale or supply at a time when the street value of the drug amounted to €13,000 or more.
