An 11-year-old boy about to be evicted from his home in Blanchardstown has been accepted to the Centre for Talented Youth in Dublin City University.

Aaron Murray has been offered a place in the course for gifted children, but mum Lorraine fears they might be made homeless before the April start date.

“We’ve been in the same house in Blanchardstown for the last eight years,” said Lorraine, a mother of six. “Last year the landlord said the house was going to be re- possessed so he needed to increase the rent by nearly €600 a month. We just can’t afford that increase.”
