Vampire facials on rise in Ireland

New figures show that last year there was a rise in the number of enquiries to clinics regarding procedures such as lip augmentation, thread lift, and something called platelet-rich plasma fillers — also known as the ‘vampire facial’.
The bloody procedure saw the biggest increase in enquiries made by clients, according to WhatClinic.com. Perhaps unsurprisingly, demand for the procedure — a 20-minute affair in which a patient’s platelets are reinjected into areas of the face — has been linked to its use by celebrities such as Kim Kardashian. It costs an average of €394, making it slightly more expensive than lip augmentation and treatment, but less pricey than thread lift, which is a non-surgical facelift.
