Medical cards for kids with severe disabilities pledged

Medical cards for children with severe disabilities will be promised in Fine Gael’s election manifesto as well as free GP care for teenagers and a new cap for drug costs.

The outgoing senior coalition party will also pledge to recruit 30,000 public sector workers and introduce reforms requiring offenders to pay compensation to victims of crime.

Details of Fine Gael’s manifesto were unveiled at a party meeting ahead of Taoiseach Enda Kenny firing the gun on the general election today. He is expected to announce Friday, February 26, as polling day.
