A group of women who were sexually abused at the hands of their fathers, have called for gardaí to receive more training in dealing with complaints of child sexual assault.

One member of the group, Emma Witherow, from Tipperary, is currently liaising with Garda authorities with a hope of addressing the Garda Training College in Templemore about how to handle such cases.

On Saturday, the four Munster women, who previously waived their right to anonymity to expose their abusers, joined forces to fight for other victims, and help other survivors move on with their lives.
