The hotel where Michaela McAreavey was murdered has again been voted the leading honeymoon destination in its resort. It has scored its best ratings with holidaymakers.

Irish bride Michaela, 27, was found strangled in the bathroom of her suite at the five-star Legends hotel, in the resort of Grand Gaube, in Mauritius, five years ago.

Four years ago, hotel chiefs distanced themselves from the tragedy by re-branding the plush premises the ‘Lux Grand Gaube’, after the idyllic coastal village in which it is located, in the north of the Indian Ocean island.
