TOP STORIES - Storm Frank Flooding

There is widespread flooding and power outages across the country as Storm Frank continues to wreak havoc. The Atlantic coast has been among the worst affected - with 70 millimetres of rain and gusts of up to 120 kilometres per hour.

Sixteen thousand homes and businesses are without power following high winds this morning and last night. ESB Networks has said Cork is the county with the highest number of line faults.

As the wind and rain eases off and we all prepare for Storm Gertrude, here is a look at some of the images captured across the country of the damage done by Storm Frank.

IRELAND

The Irish Coast Guard has airlifted an injured crewman from a Spanish trawler following a long range rescue mission some 160 miles off the Cork coast.
