LGBT activists tipped for Cork Person of the Year prize
Arthur Leahy and Kieran Rose, two long-time LGBT activists, could be named the joint winners of the title when the annual awards ceremony takes place in the Rochestown Park Hotel on January 15.
Mr Rose, a civil rights campaigner, played a pivotal role in securing the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Ireland in 1993 and is the current chairman of Glen, the Gay and Lesbian Equality Network.
