Solar farm gets green light from Waterford council

Waterford Council has granted planning permission for a 5MW solar energy farm in the west of the county.

This allows Cork-based Amarenco Solar Kilcannon Ltd to commence construction at Kilcannon, Cappagh, six miles from Dungarvan.

Across 30 acres of land, thousands of photovoltaic solar panels will be mounted on ground frames, alongside two single-storey inverter/transformer stations, a delivery station, security fencing and CCTV.
