John Perry thanks God as he secures place on Fine Gael ticket

Fine Gael TD John Perry thanked God after his party agreed to add him to the general election ticket in Sligo-Leitrim, thus ending his High Court action.

The party is nursing the embarrassment of having to include Mr Perry on the ticket, as well as a costly legal bill, estimated to be more than €30,000.

Mr Perry said the settlement “totally vindicated” his decision to take the party to court in protest after he failed to come through a selection convention in October.
