Clare sex offender fathers baby with the girl he was ordered to avoid

A convicted sex offender who has fathered a baby with a 16-year-old girl was warned by gardaí when the girl was 14 not to have any contact with her.

The Co Clare man, aged 34, who is not allowed to have any profile on Tinder, Snapchat, Twitter, or Facebook profile as part of a court order, pleaded guilty at Ennis Circuit Court to the defilement of the girl on dates between September and December 2013.

The man was previously jailed for four years in 2004 for five counts of buggery and 11 counts of sexual assault of five victims, four male and one female, who were aged 10 to 14 years of age at the time. Those offences took place between 1996 and 2002, when the offender was aged 15 to 22.
