Compulsory warnings for clients about possible infections after certain procedures will be given out by parlours in future, under the draft plans.

Health Minister Leo Varadkar is expected to say that tattooing and body piercing have become increasingly popular as a “fashion statement” and that the number of parlours has multiplied as a result.
