Teen with machete threatened to kill neighbour in Ennis

A senior garda has told a court a machete-wielding 17-year-old told his neighbour he would kill everyone in the upstairs of a home after gaining entry last July.

At Ennis District Court, Insp Tom Kennedy said the youth — who cannot be named for legal reasons — told his next door neighbour he would kill him unless he gave him the keys of his car.

Insp Kennedy said the youth was armed with a long machete and the father asked the youth not to make any noise, as his young son was asleep upstairs.
