Acting president Tim O’Leary faces a fight to stay in the position after one of the county executives calling for him and the entire IFA board to go claimed momentum for such a move was building.

It is thought eight county branches of the IFA have now passed resolutions calling for some or all of the executive board to resign.

At last week’s marathon national meeting in Dublin, just three motions were in place, with two of those — Galway and Mayo — simply seeking Mr O’Leary to step aside.
