Scottish act the Proclaimers were scheduled to play the Savoy on St Patrick’s Street next Thursday, November 19, but have now cancelled their appearance.

A message on the band’s website stated that “a dispute between the landlord and the tenants has led to the venue being closed indefinitely”.

Bounce Box, the promoters behind the Enchanted Dreams event due to be held at the Savoy next month yesterday announced that they are seeking an alternative venue because “the Savoy has been closed for over a week now and there is ongoing uncertainty over whether it will reopen again before Christmas”.

A spokeswoman for Bounce Box said they have not heard from any of the management at the Savoy in over three weeks.

House act Tchami was due to play in the Savoy last night, but on Tuesday the venue’s Facebook page announced the gig had been moved to the Hanover club.

This was then followed by another venue change on Thursday, when the Savoy management announced that Tchami would instead play SG1 in Fermoy, and that buses would be made available for ticket holders.
