Man held in custody following court appearance in Holland

The man with an address in the southern Dutch city of Den Bosch, also known as ‘s-Hertogenbosch, was detained for a further two weeks yesterday, following his arrest in the house where the battered body of Martina O’Brien- Viguurs, 64, was discovered on Monday.

While Dutch police investigating her death have refused to release the cause or the timing of her death, it was believed Ms O’Brien-Viguurs, who was originally from Douglas in Cork and Rathkeale in Limerick, was beaten to death in the house, possibly on Sunday night.
