Italian man kicked in head as guitar taken in Cork City

The victim said in a victim impact report that he had recovered from his physical injuries but he felt it would have a negative effect on his outlook for a long time.
Volodymyr Reyterovych, with addresses at Donscourt, Bishopstown, Cork City, and Kilmoney Rd, Carrigaline, Co Cork, pleaded guilty to robbery at Industry St, Cork, on June 28, 2014.
Detective Garda Katrine Tansley testified that the injured party walked past a group of youths at Nicholas Church Place at 1.30am.
A young woman shouted something at him that he could not understand and then one woman and two young men followed him.
“When he reached Industry Place he turned around and someone kicked him into the right side of the face knocking off his glasses,” said Det Garda Tansley. “As one male kicked him another male and a female were with him. He then received a kick to his thigh. He was in fear. He had a guitar on his back which he removed and told them to take it. They also took his wallet.”
The accused was identified from CCTV carrying the guitar from the scene.
The judge adjourned sentencing until the February sessions of Cork Circuit Criminal Court but said he would not guarantee anything in relation to sentencing for what he described as serious crimes.
