Seven Irish novels have made it on to the long list for the world’s richest literary prize.

They are among 160 titles nominated by libraries around the world for the €100,000 International Dublin Literary Award which includes past winner Colm Toibin, in the running this year for his novel Nora Webster.

The other Irish books are The Temporary Gentleman by Sebastian Barry, Academy Street by Mary Costello, The Undertaking by Audrey Magee, Unravelling Oliver by Liz Nugent, The Thrill of it All by Joseph O’Connor, and The Diary of Mary Travers by Eibhear Walshe.
