Tragic mum Lorraine Gallagher has given away some of her late daughter’s personal items in a bid to inspire others to lives their lives to the full.

The Co Donegal woman is still struggling to come to terms with the deaths of her two daughters Shannon and Erin, who took their own lives within six weeks of each other in 2012.

Erin was the victim of online bullying in the weeks before her death while Shannon said she simply could not go on after Erin took her own life.

Lorraine, 39, has given daughter Shannon’s boxing gloves and headgear to a young cousin. Allanah Sweeney is an up and coming boxer with the Twin Towns Boxing Club in Ballybofey who recently won her first Ulster boxing title. Lorraine said: “I thought it was a nice thing to do. I have a lot of the girls’ stuff but Allie is a wonderful girl and I just hope the gloves bring her some inspiration in her sport.”
