A 20-year-old man has been ordered to pay €2,500 to a law student whose nose he broke in an altercation.

Eoghan Moriarty said he required counselling for the emotional problems he experienced after the assault in which he also received a broken jaw from another man, not before the courts.

Jack Barrett of Ballygologue Park, Listowel, Co Kerry, admitted assaulting Mr Moriarty, causing him harm on John B Keane Rd, Listowel, on June 2, 2014.
