Woman begs to pay €1k beg fine

A Roma woman with no income has been caught in a Catch-22 where she is now begging to pay €1,000 in fines imposed on her for begging.

Dennis Healy, solicitor, said Sachira Rostas, 23, of 80 College Road Cork, was now in a Catch-22 situation.

Inspector John Deasy said she was harassing people and begging from them as they walked along Oliver Plunkett Street after 3am on Sunday, October 18.
