Adrian Crevan Mackin charged with being in IRA

Adrian Crevan Mackin’s Facebook profile is not unlike that of many other lads in their mid-twenties: A picture of a BMW car, photos of him on the beach with a dog.

Unlike his contemporaries, Mackin mixed the mundane with the murderous. Earlier this year he appeared before the Special Criminal Court in Dublin charged with IRA membership.

Aged 24, he was from Rosstrevor, Co Down, but locals say he had been living in Omeath for at least two years. It is understood he is the father of two children with the woman he shot.
