Tighter security at boxing fight after gang killing

Garda security arrangements are expected to be put in place for a potential flashpoint between gangland figures following the burial yesterday of murdered criminal Gary Hutch.

Senior officers fear a forthcoming boxing match in Dublin, involving a club associated with a feared Irish trafficking syndicate, could spark a revenge attack for Hutch’s death.

The 34-year-old was gunned down at his apartment complex in Miraflores, on Spain’s Costa del Sol a fortnight ago.
