Ashley Madison website has 265 paid subscribers in Munster

More than 260 individuals based in Munster are identified as paid subscribers of the dating website Ashley Madison on a list leaked as part of an international hacking scandal.

An analysis of millions of records of credit card transactions made on the website for people who want to have extra-marital affairs shows almost 1,200 clients of Ashley Madison are located in Ireland, including 265 based in Munster.

Since 2008, Irish customers of the Canadian-based website spent about €200,000 on Ashley Madison before last month’s high-profile cyber attack which captured global headlines.
