An online petition has been launched against plans to build a giant incinerator in Cork harbour by a group who has being fighting against such a proposal for the past 14 years.

CHASE (Cork Harbour for A Safe Environment) has launched the petition ahead of the likelihood that Indaver will shortly lodge a planning application for an incinerator in Ringaskiddy.

It’s expected the company will seek permission for an incinerator capable of handling both toxic and municipal waste and with a yearly capacity of 200,000 tonnes.
