A woman who was injured in a serious car accident testified yesterday that when the motorist was jailed for six months, the driver’s partner called to her home and assaulted her.

However, Darren Moynihan, aged 42, of Ronin’s Hill, Ballincollie Rd, Cork, was found not guilty of assaulting Grace Murray at her home at Bramble Cottages, Old Spangle Hill, Farranree, Cork, but he was convicted of engaging in threatening behaviour on the occasion.

Ms Murray said the background was that she was seriously injured in 2013 in a car accident and Moynihan’s partner was jailed for six months as a result.
