Man charged over stolen 4x4 crash

A man arrested while carrying a loaded rifle and ammunition after a stolen 4x4 crashed on the outskirts of Cork City has been remanded in custody.

Don Duggan, aged 27, with an address at 65 Ballinderry Park, Mayfield, Cork, was refused bail yesterday after being brought before Cork District Court following his arrest in the Glanmire area on Wednesday.

Mr Duggan was charged with using a vehicle without consent at Springhill, Glanmire, on Wednesday, and with the unlawful taking of a vehicle at Thurles railway station in Co Tipperary on the same day, both contrary to section 112 of the Road Traffic Act.
