Irish woman Grainne receives special present from Usain Bolt

One Irishwoman is the envy of athletics fans around the world after Usain Bolt gave her a very special present.

Irish woman Grainne receives special present from Usain Bolt

Grainne O’Dea, from Raphoe, Co Donegal, works for Pace, the management team of the world’s fastest man.

Grainne is used to having meetings with some of the top athletes in the world, but even she was left speechless when Bolt handed over his Jamaican flag and priceless bright yellow running spikes after his incredible 200m world championship win in Beijing earlier this week.

Grainne, a former Finn Valley athlete, works alongside Richard Simms, from Milford, Co Donegal, who is Bolt’s close friend and manager at the top sports management agency.

After a season plagued by injury, Bolt returned to his best form to blow away all his rivals at the Bird’s Nest stadium on Thursday.

Fans of Bolt are still hopeful he will one day make an appearance in Donegal after he remarked two years ago that he would love to visit the county.

Simms said he is still trying to fit the visit into Bolt’s packed schedule.
