A judge has refused to grant bail to a 15-year-old boy charged with false imprisonment of a young man on a Dublin city centre street.

It is alleged the 19-year-old had been robbed and held for 15 minutes by youths, armed with a broken bottle, before his phone was taken and his bank card was unlawfully used to withdraw €220 from his account.

The teenage defendant had already spent over a week in custody. His bail hearing resumed yesterday when Judge James Faughnan heard the boy would stay out of Dublin if he was released.
