A man is in hospital in Mayo after an overnight stabbing in Ballina. Gardaí were called to a house in Tom Clarke Place in the town after 4 am, and found the victim inside.

A street in Dublin was flooded last night after vandals had opened the three gates on the Grand Canal. It took the Dublin Fire Brigade two and a half hours to bring it under control last night as thousands of gallons of canal water washed down Tyrconnell Road leaving homeowners in fear for their homes.

An Irish man has been arrested after being found naked in a couple’s bed in Australia. A couple in the Sydney suburb of Maroubra woke this morning to find the naked man with them in their bed before chasing him out of the room, after he picked up his clothes, into their back yard.
