Noonan must give evidence to Stormont probe: Tóibín

Finance Minister Michael Noonan should give evidence to a Stormont inquiry into Nama’s sale of its Northern property empire, Sinn Féin has said.

Peadar Tóibín said the minister should not hide behind the border, but co-operate with the Belfast Assembly’s finance committee probe.

Mr Tóibín, who is to push in September for a Dáil commission of investigation into Nama and its dealings when the Oireachtas returns, said questions needed to be answered about the sale of Northern assets which he claimed lost the state €400m.
