Karen Buckley family statement: ‘There are no words to describe our loss — our family’s hearts are broken’

Karen Buckley’s father described Alexander Pacteau as ‘truly evil’ after the killer admitted repeatedly hitting her with a spanner and trying to dispose of her body in a bath of chemicals. In an emotional speech outside of court, John Buckley, who travelled with his wife Marian and three sons for the hearing said there are no words to describe what the family went through.

“Marian and I, together with our family, would like to thank everybody here in Glasgow and back in Ireland that have helped us cope with this terrible tragedy.
