Special Report (Rural Ireland): Locals will not give up on Borris-in-Ossory
ON A recent breezy summer’s morning, two men were raised on a jack, installing CCTV cameras in St Cannis’s Church, just off Main St, Borris-in-Ossory.
To the south of the town, the blades of a clutch of wind turbines wheeled lazily around. In the distance, the Sliabh Bloom mountains could be glimpsed, rising to meet a bank of dishwater clouds. But if the setting is tranquil, then the reason for the cameras is far from it.
