The foreign affairs minister was last night urged to intervene in a custody battle involving two Limerick children. They are in the care of a woman in the US who has been questioned by police about a head wound which claimed the life of their father.

Jason Corbett, from Limerick, was found dead at his home in North Carolina more than a week ago.

The American woman he married after the death of his wife has taken custody of the two children he had with his first wife, Mags.
