Skibbereen to march back in time

Dust off your bonnets, polish those buckles, and get the horse and trap ready for a trip into the past as a West Cork town prepares to step back in time.

Skibbereen will pay homage to its past by transforming into a 19th century town, complete with a torchlit vintage costume parade tomorrow evening.

The town centre will be closed to all traffic except ponies and traps and the staff of local businesses will dress in period costume to help recreate 19th century Skibbereen for the event.
