17 local authority houses each need €30k of repairs

A total of 180 local authority houses remain idle in Co Cork, three since 2009, and 17 requiring more than €30,000 each to restore.

Cork County Council’s chief executive, Tim Lucey, said he was considering selling 19 of the houses requiring repairs, rather than refubishing them.

Overall, 96 of the 180 are in North Cork, 48 in West Cork, and 36 in South Cork.
