The forum will be the fourth to be hosted in Co Waterford by the Pennsylvania-based Mercyhurst University and has drawn 300 visitors into the region for the three-day event.
Among those attending are intelligence officers, cybercrime fighters, former secret service agents, and members of police forces from across the world.
Themes up for discussion will be security analysis, global cybersecurity threats, the impact of social media on security and intelligence management, and innovations in business intelligence.
Commissioner O’Sullivan will give her address today at 9am in the Dungarvan Park Hotel.
This will be followed by a panel discussion by speakers including the chairman of NAMA Frank Daly, president emeritus of Notre Dame College Andrew Roth and the Dean of Mercyhurst’s School of Health Professions and Public Health, David J. Dausey.
There will also be panel-based debates in the afternoon on topics including higher education and cybersecurity.
