The 59-year-old father of one is well known to pedestrians and shoppers in his native town of Bandon — something which has come in very handy in his campaign to raise more than €1,200 for a popular annual fundraiser for a Cork hospital.

Gerry will be one of some 700 walkers participating in the Mercy Hospital’s Make Your Mark Walk in aid of cancer research on Sunday week.
