Assault charges upgraded for duo in attack case

The investigation into the case of a man critically injured in an iron bar attack resulted in two accused facing more serious charges yesterday at Cork District Court.

Jamie O’Brien, aged 20, of 23 Meadow Hills, the Meadows, Hollyhill, and Eddie Murphy aged 26, of 57 Kilmore Rd, Knocknaheeny, were both formally arrested and charged by Det Garda Mick Dolan.

Both were previously charged with assault causing harm to Mark Lahive at Exchange Business Park, John F Connolly Rd, Churchfield, Cork, on April 28.
