‘Irresistible rogue’ had problems clearing pub

A roguish bachelor whom Kenmare ladies found irresistible was finding it very difficult to clear his pub, Kenmare District Court was told yesterday.

James O’Connor, aged 41, of O’Connor’s Bar, The Square, was before the court on allegations of serving drink after hours on two separate occasions last summer.

There were about 100 people on the premises when gardaí called at 1.50am — more than an hour after closing time — on June 2, 2014, Superintendent Flor Murphy outlined to the court.
