Brian Cowen blames all but Fianna Fáil and himself

In a marathon testimony to the Banking Inquiry, Brian Cowen blamed the banks, the regulators, the global economic crisis, the opposition, a lack of power, a lack of choices and a range of other factors for the country’s woes.

But never blamed himself or his Fianna Fáil party.

During a robust and sometimes feisty performance, that was at times as much directed at Fianna Fáil’s grassroots as the inquiry, he defended his term in office.
