Experienced arts administrator Eibhlín Gleeson has been appointed the new chief executive of Cork Opera House.

Ms Gleeson’s appointment, confirmed last night, is effective from October when current CEO Mary Hickson’s contract ends. Ms Hickson is planning to pursue other opportunities.

Ms Gleeson, who has been the theatre’s general manager since 2012, has extensive experience as a senior arts administrator over the last 13 years.
