Bid to end cycleway project deadlock

Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe has moved to break the deadlock over a key stage of a coast-to-coast cycleway.

Bid to end cycleway project deadlock

Mr Donohoe wrote to landowners in and around Galway last night outlining a conclusion process with 1,000 landowners which he hopes will help identify a workable route for the Galway greenway project — the western end of the ambitious Dublin-Galway greenway project.

The 280km coast-to-coast greenway is divided into 12 sections stretching from Dublin’s docklands to Galway city. Three stages are already open, two more have planning, while four more are at design stages.
